As discussed in our previous blog, concussions have the potential to become very serious brain injuries. This makes protecting your brain from any potential head injury very important. Fortunately, it is very easy to be safe about concussions. You just need to be cautious and aware of potential injuries. It also important to the wear the proper gear and apparel when required. The safest way to protect against concussions is to wear a head protector.
For protection against concussions and other head related injuries, we offer the Skillbuilders® Head Protector. This device can be worn by just about anybody. Small children, teens, and adults can put it on as the size of the head protector ranges from extra-small to extra-large. There is no need to worry if the head protector is too loose because attached to it is a Velcro strap to securely fasten it to your head. The outer covering of this head protector is filled with shock absorbing material. This means that if a collision involving the user’s head happens, the head protector will absorb most of the shock. This leaves the user’s skull and brain unharmed from blow back. The head protector is only effective if it is worn properly, otherwise it’s shock absorbent material won’t absorb whatever the user bumps into.
The Skillbuilders® Head Protector does not only protect from concussions though, as it can protect against other related head injuries. The main purpose of this product is to protect special needs children from dangerous activities or potential hazards. This head protector can aid in these types of scenarios because it fully covers the head. Unlike bicycle helmets, which mainly protect the top of the head, the head protector covers the front, back and sides of the head. Full coverage of the head combined with the soft, shock absorbent material lowers the risk of a head injury.
When safety for head injuries is concerned we recommend the Skillbuilders® Head Protector. You can protect yourself from most head related injuries, including but not limited to concussions. This head protector will not fully prevent head injuries, but it is a great safety tool to use.
