Many of our fans are past the point of deciding to make a change for the New Year. These badasses, like the ones featured in our fitness Transformations Series, already decided to make a change, and are satiating their hunger for fitness day at a time. But whether you’ve already made the leap forward or are heading toward it, the New Year offers a great excuse for setting new fitness resolutions. From starting a journal or treating yourself to a meal management system, get inspired with our ideas for 2015.
1. Become a meal prep champ.
If you’re crazy about your gym routine and nutritional intake, you’re probably already well versed in the world of meal prep. You can, however, approach meal prepping from a number of different ways, such as for those on a college budget or for those who prefer a paleo diet. In 2015, one of our goals is expanding our How To Meal Prep series, so make one of your fitness resolutions to read along and become a meal prep champ with us!
2. Truly understand your motives.
It’s one thing to decide, “I want to look hot” and another thing entirely to decide, “I want to be the best I can be.” The former goal, while it may push you to get started, is ultimately superficial. Instead, think of your fitness routine as a never-ending journey towards happiness and healthiness. If you’re not working out for the right reasons, you still might get the results you want, but there’s no guarantee that your gains will last unless you’re fully committed and deeply prepared. Start off 2015 by reevaluating your goals and understanding your motives from all angles.
3. Try something new.
We have a feeling that many of our fans are pretty adventurous people who will try all kinds of different things, but if you’re the type that sticks to a routine, maybe 2015 is your year to try something different. We’re not telling you to break your routine, because routines are the key to consistency, but why not get involved with something new? From bikini competitions to yoga to participating in Spartan Races, keep things interesting in 2015. And if you find it that you don’t especially like bikini competitions or yoga or participating in Spartan Races, at least you can say you gave it a fair shot!
4. Start a journal.
Many people like to keep track of their fitness goals and achievements, and journaling is a great way to do so. As one of our suggestions for 2015 fitness resolutions, we think you should start writing things down. But don’t just write down how many calories you burned or how many laps you swam. You should definitely keep track of those things, but you should also jot down inspiring quotes and ask yourself questions like, ‘How can I have my best day yet?’ Writing down your thoughts is a good way to organize them, and you may just find yourself becoming even more focused by the end of it.
5. Buy awesome gear.
Fitness buffs need gear that’s going to make their lives more efficient, such as fitness trackers, heart rate monitors, and fitness gear for when you’re on the go. But what good is all that stuff if you don’t have the right diet? One of the hardest parts about sticking to a diet is when you’re not at home – it’s pretty much impossible to rely on restaurants. With a 6 Pack meal management system, that pressure is eliminated. Just load up a 6 Pack gym bag, backpack, or tote, and all the food you need for the day is right there, staying nice and cold in your bag. Remember: you lose ounces in the gym and pounds in the kitchen, so if you’ve been needing an excuse to treat yourself to the convenience of one our bags… we think the start of a new year is a pretty good one.
At 6 Pack Fitness, we know that our fans are the type of people who don’t even really need to make fitness resolutions for New Year’s Day. You guys kick ass every single day of the year! But just the same, we do agree that the beginning of a new year is a great time to get focused, stay the course, and become even bigger, harder, leaner, and stronger than ever before. So grab your 6 Pack gym bag and get 2015 off to a great start!
