It’s mid January. Maybe the best of New Year’s Resolutions intentions have already started to fizzle out. Maybe you think great running achievements are only made for those who were born super speedy. Maybe it’s already starting to feel like every other year.
This year you can. Why? Because we’ve seen so many members of the RunKeeper community do it already. Do what? Crush their fitness goals. Overcome being busy, being injured, or being just plain stuck–to break free and really experience the magic of this running thing.
Hard to believe that can be you? That’s why we made this video. These are three real, every day RunKeeper users who are pushing their individual limits. That’s the thing about goals. There’s no universal standard on what makes a fitness goal worthwhile. They are deeply personal—so don’t go comparing your goals and achievements to everyone else’s.
Take Soraya. She’s a 40-something single mom who went out and ran her first marathon last year. She’s up super early every weekday to do Insanity in her living room and then on the weekends to get her long runs in. She’s amazing and you can read more of her story here.
We’ve all got some Soraya in us. So don’t sit there and think that you aren’t capable of great fitness achievements. Get up and tell us what you’re going to do this year. And don’t you dare go on thinking that your goal is too small. Share it.
No need to wait on it, either. We’ve created the ‘This Year You Can” Challenge to encourage you to track 3 hours of activity before the end of January. We’re confident it will help you get 2015 off to a great start. Completing the challenge gives you a chance to win the Ultimate 2015 Running Prize Pack, which includes running gear and apparel from our favorite brands, like SMS Audio and Magellan. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram, because we’ll be announcing some more exciting opportunities to win throughout the month.
Now tell us, what are you doing to make this year awesome? #TYYC
